The STEM-E Students from Hayesville Elementary saw a huge need at the school and jumped on it as an entrepreneur opportunity. They decided to open a school store. They also wanted to use some of the proceeds from the store to complete a community service project. The project was a unanimous decision. They wanted to create Chemo Care Bags to donate to a nearby cancer center to be distributed to first time chemotherapy patients. This was in honor of two sweet ladies at our school who had recently completed chemotherapy: Mary Cothren and Melanie Thompson, or Mel. They called these "MaryMel Bags".
